Happy New Year everyone!  2010 is shaping up to be a great year for our club already.  Coming up this weekend, the 9th, the Alabama Region will be joining several other car clubs in the area for the Polar Bear Run.  Given the recent temperatures, for once, I'd say the title is fitting!  Just 2 weeks later on the 23rd we will be hosting a Tech Session at the Barber Museum.  For more information on these and other events, please visit the calendar link or feel free to email someone on the contacts page for further details.

December 4, 2009... The Alabama Region Christmas Party at the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum.  Thank you to everyone who made it out.  With over 100 members and significant others in attendance, I'd say it was a success.  In particular, I'd like to say thank you to all the new faces who joined us this year.   It's great to see so many new owners of the Porsche marque out and excited to enjoy their cars and the fellowship our club has to offer.

All gifts collected for the evening were donated to the Hoover Police Dept in their support of the Toys for Tots program.  Happy Holiday to you all!

Saturday, October 17... The Alabama Region hosted its first Fall Extravaganza, Oktoberfest, or whatever it is we're calling it :-)  A tremendous thank you to everyone who came out to make this a great inaugural event.  In particular, we'd like to thank John Copeland and the Docupak team for hosting the event.  Additionally, thank you to Clark Virden with Zoom Motorsports, Casey and Chris with Eurasian Auto, Carl Spiller with Momentum and Saab Tire for contributing door prizes.  Check out the photo gallery for pics from the event...

Thanks to everyone who came out and braved the weather with us at Talladega Grand Prix Raceway.  It's been a long time since our club hosted an event there, but I would say we can count on returning.  The course is much improved from what many of us remember in years past.  Wider, longer, faster; what more can we say...  Despite the occasional light showers, or maybe because of, this turned out to be a great opportunity for both rookie and experienced driver's to test their car control abilities.  And yes, we even saw a dry line occasionally and got to put the pedal to the metal.  Shoot me some photos, I'll do my best to add them to the site...  Thank you for a great day..

For those who are new to our club or not on our email list, please check out our new Facebook group.  I started it primarily so we could add photos, but we'd love to see it grow as an additional resource for communicating with you.  You'll be directed to it by clicking the link on the top or bottom of this page.  Please feel free to join and add pictures or share a good Porsche story.

Please be sure to visit the Calendar link for a list of upcoming events in ours and surrounding regions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

If you know of other events in the area that you would like added to the list, please contact me at BStarr@ipapilot.org
